Directives:
  • Ship your work in a sturdy, reusable box.
  • Put your prepaid return shipping label in the box.
  • Write your name LARGE on the outside.
  • VERY IMPORTANT - put a label on the back of your work with your name and the title of the piece.
  • Make sure your piece is tightly wired. No sawtooth hangers.
  • Your work should have finished edges.
  • Include any special hanging apparatus and instructions (if not a normally hung work).
  • NO NO NO packing peanuts -- Did I say NO packing peanuts?
  • Do NOT send a form with a UPS or FedEx account number on it to be billed. They will not pick it up. Your label must have a bar code.

PREPAID RETURN SHIPPING LABEL: This is crucial. Every shipped piece MUST arrive with a prepaid return shipping label to return the work back to you from SOMArts. Have this return label (must have a bar code) and put in an envelope inside your box.
Directions to Print a Shipping Label:
  1. Create an account online with FedEx or UPS
  2. Have your box already packed and write down the dimensions (H x W x L) and weight. If you don't have a scale, just guestimate
  3. Create two labels -- the first is shipped TO SOMArts, the second FROM SOMArts back to you
  4. Put in December 2, 2011 as the return ship date
Or, go to a place like Mailboxes Plus and have them do it for you. But this may cost 30% more!
